Rock stars dominate the Sunday Times Music Rich List
The Sunday Times Rich List has revealed the Top 20 wealthiest British and Irish people in music 2017.
Ahead of unveiling the 100 wealthiest people in the UK & Ireland this weekend, the newspaper has revealed who they estimate are the richest stars in music.
Unsurprisingly, Sir Paul McCartney and his wife Nancy Shevell claimg the top spot after their wealth swelled by an estimated £20million over the past 12 months to £780million.
Putting it into perspective, if that figure is indeed correct and The Beatles legend had all his money in a 1% interest savings account, he would incredibly amass £150,000 a week in interest alone.
Elsewhere, stars from across the rock sphere to make the Top 20 include Brian May, Eric Clapton, Ozzy Osbourne, U2, Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Sting, Roger Waters and Charlie Watts.
Pop singer Adele is the youngest star to make the countdown after she earned an estimated £40million in the past year; the highest 12-month earnings in the entire list.
