Rock Legends Up For Grammy Awards

A LOT of rock legends are nominated for awards at next year\'s Grammys

A host of the biggest and best rock legends have received nominations for this year’s Grammy Awards.

ROBERT PLANT picks up yet another two nominations for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance (for ‘Silver Rider’) and for Best Americana Album (for Band Of Joy).

SOUNDGARDEN have been nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance for their ‘Black Rain’ single, which was released on their recent retrospective Telephantism.

OZZY OSBOURNE will be competing against Soundgarden in the same category for his song ‘Let Me Hear You Scream’.

THEM CROOKED VULTURES will also compete for Best Hard Rock Performance for their single ‘New Fang’.

KINGS OF LEON have picked up two nominations – Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals for ‘Radioactive’.

ERIC CLAPTON picks up a single nod for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for the song ‘Run Back To Your Side’ which is taken from his latest album Clapton.

NEIL YOUNG has received three nominations, picking up two for his song ‘Angry World’ (Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance and Best Rock Song) and one for the album Le Noise (Best Rock Album).

IRON MAIDEN will compete for Best Metal Performance with their song ‘El Dorado’.

JEFF BECK, meanwhile, tops the lot with a massive six nominations - Best Rock Instrumental Performance (for ‘Hammerhead’), Best Rock Album (for Emotion & Commotion), Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s) and Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals (for a performance on ‘Imagine’), Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical (again for Emotion & Commotion), Best Pop Instrumental Performance (for Nessun Dorma) and Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals (for ‘I Put A Spell On You’ with Joss Stone).

MUSE have received three nominations for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals and Best Rock Song (both for the song ‘Resistance’) and Best Rock Album for the album The Resistance.

PEARL JAM get a sole nomination for Best Rock Album for their Backspacer album...

Where they will compete with TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS who have also picked up a nomination for Best Rock Album for their Mojo album.

And RUSH, DOORS, THE WHITE STRIPES and BLUR will all compete for the Best Long Form Music Video award.

The award ceremony takes place on 13 February in LA
