Robert Plant Back With A Band Of Joy
Zep frontman names his new band
Robert Plant is to release a brand new studio album with his new group, Band Of Joy, this summer.
Band Of Joy was the name of one of Plant’s pre-Zeppelin bands – and which also featured John Bonham for a little more than a year. The new incarnation of the band features Patty Griffin, vocals, Darrell Scott, multi instrumentalist/vocals, Byron House, Bass/Vocals, Marco Giovino, drums and percussion/vocals, and co-producer Buddy Miller, guitar/vocals.
The band hope to have an album out towards the end of the summer / at the beginning of the autumn.
Says Plant: "It’s been a blast working on these new songs...and I’m enjoying such creativity and vitality. It’s been a remarkable change of direction for all of us and as a group we all seem to have developed a new groove.”
Band Of Joy hit the road for a 12 date North American tour in July with more dates to be announced shortly. No UK shows have been confirmed as yet.
