Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow share professionally shot footage of comeback gigs
Ritchie Blackmore’s latest Rainbow ensemble have shared professionally filmed footage of two tracks performed at their comeback gigs in Germany.
The performances of the Deep Purple tracks ‘Black Night’ and ‘Perfect Strangers’ were recorded at Monsters of Rock in Loreley and Bietigheim back in June.
They’re both lifted from the live album ‘Memories in Rock – Live in Germany’, which is released on DVD/2CD, Blu-Ray/2CD, Deluxe Edition and Triple LP formats on Friday 18th November.

Despite the two Germany shows featuring on the DVD, Ritchie Blackmore said it was at their third show in Birmingham that the band really hit their stride.
"I enjoyed especially the last one in England,” Ritchie told Dutch radio station Radio Veronica. “The first two (at Germany’s Monsters of Rock) were a little bit intense, because we hadn't played together. We hadn't done a lot of rehearsing, so the first two shows were a bit hectic and chaotic. But the last one in Birmingham, obviously, we'd played two shows at that point, and that seemed to work, to me.”
Available to preorder right now, the ‘Memories in Rock – Live in Germany’ track-list is as follows:
Highway Star
Spotlight Kid
Mistreated
16th Century Greensleeves
Since You Been Gone
Man on the Silver Mountain
Catch the Rainbow
Difficult to Cure (Beethoven’s Ninth)
Perfect Strangers
Stargazer
Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll
Child in Time / Woman From Tokyo
Black Night
Smoke on the Water
