REM Make Men Cry
Band\'s 1992 single makes more grown men weep than any other, apparently
REM’s ‘Everybody Hurts’ is the song which makes most men cry, according to a new poll.
A new poll conducted by the Performing Rights Society found that the 1992 ballad (with a string arrangement courtesy of Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones) was the song which was found to make men cry the most.
It beat songs by Clapton (‘Tears In Heaven’) and Leonard Cohen (‘Hallelujah’) to hit the top spot.
Here’s the top ten:
- 'Everybody Hurts' (REM)
- 'Tears in Heaven' (Eric Clapton)
- 'Hallelujah' (Leonard Cohen)
- 'Nothing Compares 2 U' (Sinead O'Connor)
- 'With or Without You' (U2)
- 'The Drugs Don't Work' (The Verve)
