Two rare posthumous Jimi Hendrix albums are getting a re-release next month.

Featuring material recorded by Jimi between 1968 and 1970 at Electric Lady Studios in New York, ‘The Cry of Love’ and ‘Rainbow Bridge’ were originally released to critical acclaim in 1971 a year after the music legend’s untimely death.

Out of print for some years, the albums are now being released on CD, vinyl and digital formats on Monday 15th September.

In other news, the new Hendrix biopic ‘Jimi: All Is By My Side’, starring Outkast rapper Andre 3000 as Jimi, hits cinema screens in the UK on 24th October.
