Rammstein open European stadium tour in Prague – setlist, photos, videos
A pyro feast
Last updated 16th May 2022
Rammstein officially kicked off their European stadium tour with sprawling 21-song set at Prague Letňany Airport last night (Sunday 15th May).
After playing two fan club shows at the venue to just a handful of lucky people last week, Rammstein took to the stage in the late evening sunshine and opened their first official concert in almost three years with the live debut (in public at least) of ‘Zeit’ tracks ‘Armee der Tristan’ and ‘Zick Zack.’
Flanked by their astonishing stage set and their trademark mind-blowing pyrotechnics, Rammstein played two further tracks from their latest studio album later on – title track ‘Zeit’ and set closer ‘Adieu.’
However, it was 2019’s untitled record that featured most prominently in the set with five songs getting a live outing – ‘Deutschland’, ‘Radio’, ‘Ausländer’, ‘Zeig Dich’ and ‘Puppe.’
Other Rammstein anthems performed in Prague included ‘Links 2-3-4’, ‘Mein Teil’, Du Hast’, ‘Du Riechst So Gut’ and ‘Pussy’, which, of course, featured Till Lindemann’s exploding phallic cannon.
Rammstein’s now legendary pyro stunts were retained at the concert including the fiery pram during ‘Puppe’, Till Lindemann’s exploding backpack during ‘Rammstein’, the screaming fireworks during ‘Du Hast’, and the ‘mad butcher’ Till Lindemann blasting poor Christian 'Flake' Lorenz with his flamethrower during ‘Mein Teil.’
One fan wrote on YouTube afterwards: “That was quite the experience. Mein Teil made me laugh, Armee der Tristen brought tears to my eyes and Ich Will made me become part of something incredibly huge. It truly was an extremely powerful, unforgettable experience. Absolutely worth the years of waiting.”
Delayed for two years due to the pandemic, Rammstein’s stadium tour visits Coventry Building Society Arena and Cardiff Principality Stadium in late June.
Rammstein were reported to be playing stadium shows in 2023, however the websites that published the dates have since mysteriously deleted the articles.

The evolution of Rammstein's pyrotechnics through the years:
Rammstein's pyro through the years
Rammstein's frontman and resident pyromaniac, Till Lindemann, wore a flaming silver coat at the band's early shows. Here he is on stage in Berlin in 1996.

Even when they played smaller stages, this did little to quell Rammstein's insatiable appetite for fire. Here's a shirtless Till Lindemann swinging two Catherine wheel-like fireworks at the Palace in Los Angeles in 1998.

Rammstein's trademark flamethrowers have also been a mainstay of their live shows for decades. Here's Till Lindemann at Australia's Big Day Out Festival in 2001.
