Queensryche Man Talks Corks & Concept Album

Geoff Tate says new album will be VERY ambitious

Queensryche frontman Geoff Tate has revealed that the band are in the midst of recording their most ambitious album to date.

In an interview with Fury Rocks Tate was speaking about his current wine making endeavour when he revealed that the band was currently writing and recording a new album.

"There is a lot to it, its Queensryche music matched with performance art. There also a story line that runs through it. The band really lives for art and new ways to make music and new approaches. This is a fresh approach that the fans will enjoy.

"All I can say about it right now is that it has a very strong social commentary. It’s a conceptual LP and musically; very different from anything we have ever done before. It’s the record we have always wanted to make and due to circumstances haven’t been able to do. Now in our careers we can finally make the record we always wanted to make. It’s a completely self indolent record. If people think we’ve gone off the deep end on other records, they will really be surprised this time."

When it’s released, the record will be a follow up to last year’s American Soldier concept album which charted the effects of war on people and was based upon Tate’s own research and interviews with war veterans.

And for those of you who are partial to your pricey wines, Tate also revealed that his Insania wine is very nearly sold out, with all of the White gone and only half of the Red remaining.
