Roger joined Taylor Hawkins’ covers band Chevy Metal for a rousing rendition of the Queen classic ‘Under Pressure’, which has long been a staple of Foo Fighters’ live shows. Bassist Nate Mendel also joined his Foos bandmate for the cover.

Chevy Metal’s set also included covers of Thin Lizzy’s ‘Jailbreak’, The Rolling Stones’ ‘Bitch’ and ‘Miss You’, The Knack’s ‘My Sharona’ and Queen’s ‘Tie Your Mother Down’.

After Hawkins told the crowd “We have one more special guest. Can you guess who it is?”, Foo Fighters lynchpin Dave Grohl joined Chevy Metal for a version of The Faces’ ‘Stay With Me’.

Billed as The Holy Sh*ts, Foo Fighters themselves made a not-so-surprise headline appearance after Chevy Metal wrapped up their set.

With Dave welcoming the audience to “Foo Fighter nerd heaven”, the set features nine rarely performed Foos tracks plus an encore of ‘Everlong’.

Held from 3pm to 7pm, the pop-up event was held to promote Foo Fighters’ Cal Jam festival that takes place at San Bernardino’s Glen Helen Regional Park on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th October.

Artists including Billy Idol, Iggy Pop with Post Pop Despression, Tenacious D, Greta Van Fleet and Foo Fighters themselves are confirmed for the two-day event, which is now in its second year.

Foo Fighters’ setlist was as follows:

1. White Limo
2. Wattershed
3. Congregation
4. Gimme Stitches
5. Weenie Beenie
6. Low
7. Hey, Johnny Park!
8. Alone + Easy Target
9. New Way Home
10. Everlong
