\"Top secret\" album will be released in 2012
The band haven't released an album since 2007's Era Vulgaris, and they have spent much of 2011 taking their debut album on the road, but they have revealed that they are currently holed up in their desert studio and it is well underway.
A recent post on their Facebook page said: "OK ok before you all yell at me on the comments machine, Yep. the Queens are deep into makin the new album. Locked away in the desert. & s--- yeah. it. sounds. f---in. killer.”
Frontman Josh Homme revealed earlier this year that playing their first album had inspired the sound of their new record, telling The Guardian
"Doing the rehearsals for the first record is really defining the new one. It’s been turning the new record into something else. What we were doing was kind of bluesy, and now it’s turned into this trancey, broken thing. The robots are back!”
Expect the new album in the spring.
