Queen To Release New Single

Previously unreleased versions of two Queen classics to be released later this month

Published 18th Feb 2011

The 'Stormtroopers In Stilettos' single is release on 27 February and it contains two previously unreleased versions of tracks recorded in the early 70's: 'Stone Cold Crazy' and 'Keep Yourself Alive'. This was the one of the first tracks that Queen ever played live, and the version on the single is a brand new 2011 remaster.

'Keep Yourself Alive' was the first single Queen ever released back in 1973 and is now released on their 40th Anniversary. This new version is a long-lost retake of the track recorded in 1975 for a USA single that never saw the light of day. It remained in the Queen vaults until much later on.

A limited 7” will be released as part of National Record Store Day on 16th April.

The release coincides with a brand new exhibition, also called Stormtroopers In Stilettos, which opens at the Old Truman Brewery in London on 25 February.

The exhibition charts the formation and first five albums of one of the most exciting and influential bands in music history. The experience contains some unseen and interactive audio and visual environments with never-before-seen snap-shots from the band's own personal archive.

Some of the unique items on display includes Freddie Mercury's ballet pumps, Brian May’s iconic Zandra Rhodes winged-top, and Roger Taylor's original drum kit.
