Queen seek extras ‘with 70s and 80s hair’ for Bohemian Rhapsody movie
After confirming that their long-gestating biopic Bohemian Rhapsody is finally underway, Queen have launched a recruitment drive for extras.
In an announcement on their Instagram page, the rock legends say they’re specifically looking for “men and women with 70s and 80s hair” to feature in the film.
The advert reads: “Extras needed for major film Bohemian Rhapsody. Filming in London. All roles paid. Massive rock band film. Looking for men and women with 70s and 80s hair.”
Anyone with a suitably retro haircut can apply to appear in Bohemian Rhapsody right here.
As reported earlier this week, preproduction started on Bohemian Rhapsody this week with filming due to start in London in September.
X-Men director Bryan Singer will helm the movie with Mr Robot actor Rami Malek playing Freddie Mercury.
Heaping praise on Bryan Singer, the band wrote: “(Bryan is) a perfect choice to recreate the fabulous Queen years which brought us such unforgettable moments as Live Aid, which we can reveal will be faithfully recreated for a key sequence the film.”
Roger Taylor and Brian May said of Rami Malek: “Rami has great presence and he’s utterly dedicated to the project. He’s completely living and breathing Freddie already, which is wonderful.”
The band are currently staying tight-lipped about who will be playing Roger, Brian and John, but they have revealed that Roger and Brian will serve as executive producers on the movie.
Meanwhile, last night at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre, 20,000 Queen fans joined in a singalong to wish Brian a Happy 70th Birthday.
Following the show, Metallica’s James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo dropped by at the afterparty to give Brian their birthday blessings.
