Planet Rock went along to the first night party of ‘Stormtroopers In Stilletos’ at the sprawling Truman Brewery building in the capital’s East End.

Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins joined Brian May and Roger Taylor at the party which included drag queens, a Freddie look-alike and hundreds of guests. Revellers were treated to free flowing cocktails and DJ sets to herald the start of a year long celebration for the band’s 40th Anniversary.

‘Stormtroopers in Stilettos’ is the first ever large scale Queen exhibition. It charts the early part of the band’s career from their humble beginnings through to the massive free Queen gig in London’s Hyde Park in 1976.

The exhibition will travel the world after its London run finishes on 12 March.
