Queen Aren't Keen On Freddie Hologram
Despite some excitement about new holographic technology, Queen probably won't be "resurrecting" Freddie in the future
A couple of weekends ago at the Coachella Festival in California, deceased rapper Tupac Shakur appeared in the form of a "hologram" to perform a song (you can watch that performance below).
The event prompted many people to speculate that holographic technology could be the future of live music as deceased legends could once again become touring propositions. However, Queen probably won't be jumping on this particular bandwagon as Roger Taylor says that he wouldn't perform with a holographic Freddie Mercury.
"I don't think I want to," Taylor told Billboard.com during a conference call with reporters to promote The Queen Extravaganza road show. "Were somebody (else) to use a hologram of Freddie, I would have no objection... It just doesn't sit too well with me. I don't want to appear with a hologram of my dear friend. It's the real one or no hologram for me. But I think it's an amazing effect when used properly -- obviously in darkness."
