Planet Rock's Al Murray, in the guise of his alter-ego The Pub Landlord, once again hosted the music mag's annual star-studded ceremony in London this afternoon (21 October).

Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro received the prestigious Best Album award for "Opposites", while Manic Street Preachers’ "Show Me The Wonder" was named Best Video.

Biffy Frontman Simon Neil joked in his acceptance speech:

"As always, thank f**k David Bowie isn't here."

Having lead the nominations with a total of six, including the Planet Rock supported "Best Act In The World Today", Bowie failed to receive any accolades this year.
