PRESALE: Steve Hackett announces Genesis Revisited tour with 41-piece orchestra
Steve Hackett has lined up a very special headline tour for this coming autumn.
Following the success of 2017’s sell-out Genesis Revisited tour, the prog icon will once again perform Genesis classics and his own numbers – however, this time he will be flanked by a vast 41-piece orchestra.
Taking in shows in Nottingham, Manchester, London, Birmingham, Gateshead and Glasgow in October, the tour was inspired by the success of Steve’s one-off show with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra at Kleinhans Music Hall in New York last March.
The UK dates will feature the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra conductor Bradley Thachuk. Steve’s regular backing band of Roger King (keyboards), Gary O’Toole (drums/percussion), Rob Townsend (saxes/flutes) with Nad Sylvan on vocals will also feature, while Jonas Reingold from The Flower Kings will be on bass.
Steve comments: "I always hoped that the Genesis music would one day involve an orchestra and I'm proud to say I'll now be able to make that dream a reality on my next British tour, involving my own extraordinary rock band alongside a full-sized orchestra."
The show will feature some of Genesis’s best-loved tracks including ‘Supper’s Ready’, ‘Dancing with the Moonlit Knight’ and ‘Firth of Fifth’ while Steve’s solo repertoire will be represented by the likes of ‘Shadow of the Hierophant’, ‘El Niño’ and ‘The Steppes’.
Planet Rock has secured a 48-hour presale to the tour, which kicks off at Planet Rock Tickets at 10am on Wednesday 24th January.
