Planet Rock surpasses 1.2million listeners a week

According to RAJAR figures released today (Thursday 16th May), Planet Rock now reaches more than 1.2million listeners a week!

A massive 14% increase year-on-year, everyone at Planet Rock want to thanks all 1,212,000 of our listeners who tune in every week.

Planet Rock’s Music and Content Director, Ric Blaxill, comments: “Thank you to the Planet Rock listeners who have supported the station for so many years and also to the new listeners who join us as we look to keep growing Planet Rock for the future.

“It feels like we are part of a very special community of music fans and are very grateful for the loyalty and listening to Planet Rock.”

Planet Rock was founded in 1999 and will be celebrating its 20th birthday this November

Alongside playing some of the greatest rock music from over the decades, Planet Rock also prides itself on showcasing the finest up-and-coming talent around.  

Since 2006 Planet Rock has featured an array of guest rock star presenters including Brian Johnson, Tony Iommi, Fish, Scott Gorham, Rick Wakeman, Phil Manzanera, Ian Anderson, Joey Tempest, Francis Rossi, Duff McKagan and the late-great Gary Moore.

Def Leppard’s Joe Ellliott, Alice Cooper and Thunder’s Danny Bowes all currently host shows alongside our regular presenters include Paul Anthony, Wyatt, Darren Redick and Murray J.
