Planet Rock's own Hannah Meadows was there to see it first-hand:

Many a rock fan will admit Dave can do no wrong, but last night’s show was never going to be a show for the fair weather follower, something Grohl predicted with his comment of, "We’re going to be here for a while...you know that right?” as he entered the stage.

The show was split into sections and featured sets led by various artists involved in the Sound City documentary, including Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick, Rick Springfield (who finished his set with ‘Jessie’s Girl), Queens of the Stone Age collaborator Alain Johannes, Fear’s Lead Singer Lee Ving, not forgetting Nirvana’s bass man Krist Novoselic, and ofcourse the Foo Fighters as the house band with Taylor Hawkins grabbing the mic for one of the Sound City tracks, ‘Time Slowing Down’. Ever the consummate performer, Grohl took up stints on drums, bass and guitar during each set and stand out tracks included a perfect rendition of ‘Surrender’ with Rick Nielsen.

But after just two hours, the set was abruptly finished with fans left unsure of what was happening next. After all, New York got a three and a half hour set with A-listers Stevie Nicks and John Fogerty.  While an evening with Dave Grohl is always a pleasure, some of us were anticipating that little bit more.

Were any of you guys there? If so, what did you think?
