Planet Rock Owner Joins ChildLine Rocks Cause
Malcolm has joined the charity event committee
Planet Rock owner Malcolm Bluemel is to join the committee of ChildLine Rocks to help raise money, awareness and the profile of this fantastic cause.
Many of you will already be aware that Planet Rock is an ardent supporter of ChildLine Rocks, helping to promote the fantastic annual concerts which have taken place in the past two years. These two shows alone have raised a huge sum of money between them and have provided the ChildLine charity with some much needed funds and support.
Now Malcolm is to become involved in an official capacity as a member of the committee to help raise the profile of the organisation in the years to come, starting with the events that are coming up in 2010.
ABOUT CHILDLINE ROCKS
ChildLine Rocks is an annual charity rock concert organised under the auspices of ChildLine 20, an independent committee set up to raise £2,000,000 for ChildLine to celebrate 20 years of ChildLine's existence.
The first ChildLine Rocks event was held on 13 March 2008 at the Indigo2 in London and saw performances from Marillion, Fish, The Zombies, Glenn Hughes and Roger Daltrey. The event was hosted by "Whispering” Bob Harris and with the combined ticket sales, donations and funds raised by a charity auction it was able to raise in excess of £100,000.
The second event took place on 1 June 2009, again at the Indigo2, and featured performances from Hot Leg, Uriah Heep, Glenn Hughes, The Pretty Things and Thunder, amongst others. Once again the show raised tens of thousands of pounds for ChildLine.
2010 looks set to be a fantastic year for ChildLine Rocks with one event already lined up for 1 April which will see rockers The Enemy, former Libertine Carl Barat and Reverend & The Makers take to the stage at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire to raise money for the charity.
And with more events planned for the rest of the year, Malcolm, and Planet Rock, hopes to make a real difference in 2010.
