Planet Rock will bolster their Blues credentials with ‘The Blues Power Sunday Brunch’, the station's second show dedicated to the genre, in a move that will help further diversify an already strong playlist that features a deep selection of rock. The primetime weekend show will create a new platform for record labels and Blues artists alike.

The station that champions a breadth of artists from Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Queen, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Airbourne, Pink Floyd, Rush and Muse, have enlisted Blues specialist Bernard Doherty to present the show. It will feature big established Blues tracks from core Planet Rock artists, as well as acoustic Blues and a fresh wave of music from the next generation of Blues talent.

Music and Content Director for Planet Rock, Ric Blaxill said “It goes without saying that the influence of Rhythm and Blues on so many of the rock greats like The Rolling Stones, Cream and The Who is clear to see. We’re really excited to launch another show dedicated to the genre and can’t wait to explore the new opportunities that it will bring."

The show has been billed as the more mainstream Blues cousin of ‘Blues Power’ which continues on Thursdays at 7pm and Saturdays at midnight on Planet Rock.

‘The Blues Power Sunday Brunch' will broadcast every Sunday from 1st February from 12pm-1pm.
