This coming Easter Bank Holiday Monday (13th April), Planet Rock will be celebrating the glorious rock music of the 1980s throughout the day.

Yes, we’re going back to the era when people had patches on their denim jackets, when hair was big, mullets were everywhere, Iron Maiden performed on Top of the Pops and Joey Tempest was calling for the Final Countdown. When Crocket and Tubbs were driving fast cars in their white linen jackets and when JR was shot. The Young Ones were causing anarchy on TV and Baldrick was being hit around the head by Black Adder. It was the time when mobile phones were the size of brief cases and shoulder pads were all the rage.

Planet Rock is going to celebrate all the music of the era – from NWOBHM to hard rock to hair metal and beyond - that will bring those memories flooding back.

Paul Anthony will kick things off from 6am when he will play a veritable smorgasbord of 80s rock classics throughout his Breakfast show, and The Planet Rock Years will feature a seminal year from the decade.

WyattandDarren Redickwill then continue the 80s music marathon throughout their shows, and the Planet Rock Jukebox will feature your favourite 80s songs.

Don’t forget you can listen to Planet Rock on digital radio, online, through our app, on digital TV and via smart speaker.
