Pink Floyd's back catalogue rereleased on vinyl for first time in 20 years
The band's first four albums are being released next month with the rest following at regular intervals.
Great news for Pink Floyd aficionados! The band’s complete back catalogue is being made available on vinyl for the first time in over two decades.
The first four records in the very special reissue – 1967’s ‘The Piper at the Gates of Dawn’, 1968’s ‘A Saucerful of Secrets’, the soundtrack from the 1969 movie ‘More’ and a double-LP version of 1969’s ‘Ummagumma’ – are released via Pink Floyd Records on Friday 3rd June.
The rest of Pink Floyd’s legendary musical arsenal including ‘The Wall’, ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ and ‘Wish You Were Here’ will be released on vinyl at regular intervals throughout the year.
The initial batch of records have been faithfully mastered by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman and they’re all being released on 180gram for premium sound quality. The artwork has also been carefully replicated to mirror the originals.
Warner Music will be manufacturing and distributing the releases in the UK and Europe, while Sony Music are doing the honours in North America.
“We're proud to continue to support one of the world's greatest and most influential bands,” says Warner Music UK chairman and CEO Max Lousada.
“This is an exciting new chapter in our long-standing partnership with Pink Floyd and we look forward to working with them to help curate their remarkable body of work.”
