Pink Floyd stamps unveiled to celebrate band’s 50th anniversary

The Royal Mail are celebrating 50 years of Pink Floyd with a series of special stamps.
There are a total of 10 different stamp designs available in a variety of packages on the Royal Mail website to mark five decades since the band turned professional.
Six seminal Pink Floyd album covers feature – ‘The Piper at the Gates of Dawn’, ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’, ‘Wish You Were Here’, ‘Atom Heart Mother’, ‘Animals’ and ‘The Endless River’.
There are also four live shots including an early appearance at the UFO Club in 1966, The Dark Side of the Moon Tour in 1973, The Wall Tour in 1981 and The Division Bell Tour in 1994.
The Royal Mail says: "We’re celebrating Pink Floyd, one of the most influential and successful British bands of all time, with a superb range of stamps, limited edition souvenirs and gifts.
"Renowned for creating some of rock music’s most acclaimed albums and iconic imagery, Pink Floyd are also lauded for their ground-breaking live performances. Royal Mail has worked closely with Pink Floyd to bring you this exceptional collection."
Packages start at £8.20 for the six album covers and go up to £104.98 for a limited edition bundle complete with a hand-numbered and framed Wish You Were Here Framed Stamp, The Dark Side of the Moon Maxi Sheet and Syd Barrett souvenir cover.
Complete sets of the stamps come with liner notes written by MOJO Editor-In-Chief and Planet Rock DJ extraordinaire Phil Alexander.
