Pink Floyd Reunite Onstage In London
Nick Mason & David Gilmour join Roger Waters onstage
The three surviving members of Pink Floyd were reunited onstage for the first time since 2005 last night at the O2 Arena in London.
David Gilmour, making good on a pledge he made last year to Roger Waters at a Hoping Foundation Charity concert, last night made a much anticipated and historic appearance joining Waters to play 'Comfortably Numb' to a sell out crowd at Roger Waters The Wall Live Concert.
What we didn't expect was the appearance of Nick Mason and the reappearance of Gilmour to play 'Outisde The Wall' at the end of the set, marking the first time that the three former bandmates had appeared onstage since Live8 six years ago.
Our very own Darren Redick was at the show and, he says, "save for Geddy Lee inviting me onstage to play with the band at the Rush show in a couple of weeks this WILL definitely be the best show of the year."
However, fans hoping for another Pink Floyd reunion on another date on the tour will be disappointed. A statement on David Gilmour's website confirms that last night was a one off.
"David is not repeating his special guest performance at a later occasion, I'm sorry to disappoint those of you with fingers crossed and tickets for later shows".
Here's a few photos from the momentous occasion:
