Pink Floyd Premiere New Single
Louder Than Words is the first track to be heard from The Endless River.
Pink Floyd have unveiled the first single to be lifted from their forthcoming album 'The Endless River', whis is set for a November 10 release.
'Louder Than Words' is the closing track on the record, which will be the band's first new studio album since 1994's 'The Division Bell'.
The song is also the only one on the album to feature lyrics, which were written by David Gilmour’s wife, Polly Samson.
Gilmour said: “The music for Louder Than Words is from those final sessions, the three of us playing together on the houseboat Astoria with Rick’s idiosyncratic keyboards reminding me now that you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. At the start of the album I asked Polly Samson to write the lyrics. She felt that what I played her didn’t need words, that hearing us play was more interesting. In the end she wrote just this one, which expresses, beautifully I think, the way the three of us, me, Nick and Rick have something when we play together, that has a magic that is louder than words.”
You can hear 'Louder Than Words' on Planet Rock from today, and after 2pm Darren Redick will play a clip of our interview with David Gilmour, which will be broadcast in full in November.
