Signed and hand-painted guitar raises thousands for charity

The auction began on Thursday, June 30 with an opening bid of $2,500. After 17 bids, the auction surpassed its estimated value of $25,000 on closing day yesterday.

Ian Emes, the visual mastermind behind The Dark Side of The Moon, painted the guitar with iconic artwork from the "Time" sequence. Roger Waters, Nick Mason, David Gilmour and Ian Emes all signed the guitar.

100 percent of net proceeds from the auction will benefit Crisis, an organization dedicated to ending homelessness, which provides important services in education, employment, housing and health.
