Pearl Jam's CFO Charged With Theft
Rickey Charles Goodrich is accused of stealing $380k
Ultimate Classic Rock reports that Goodwin, who served as the chief financial officer for Pearl Jam‘s management company, has been charged with 33 counts of theft.
According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Goodrich stole $380,000 from Curtis Management between 2006 and 2010, when he was fired. Goodrich declined to comment. He is expected to enter a plea on June 28 for the 25 counts of first-degree theft and eight counts of second-degree theft.
Goodwin started working for Pearl Jam as their accountant in 2005 before he moved to their management company. After noticing some cash flow issues the band's manager Kelly Curtis conducted his own investigation and found some irregularities, including an alleged $134,000 spent on the company credit card on items ranging from iTunes purchases to airline tickets.
In a statement, Curtis said, "We are deeply saddened by this situation. We referred this matter to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office almost 18 months ago and are looking forward to a resolution.”
