Pearl Jam To Take Long Break

Pearl Jam appear to be set for a long period of inactivity after completing their European tour on Saturday.

The band’s future plans have been the source of some speculation recently after unreleased material leaked onto the internet and there was some talk of a new album by various members of the band earlier in the year.

However, it seems that instead of new material we’ll get a long hiatus instead.

At the band’s last scheduled tour date of the year in Portugal on Saturday night frontman Eddie Vedder revealed that they will be taking a long break from doing anything.

Speaking in Portuguese, he told the crowd: "Thank you for coming to our last show. Not our last ever, but our last in a long time."

The band’s last UK show took place at Hard Rock Calling a few weeks ago. The band have been touring pretty consistently for 12 months following the release of their latest studio album, Backspacer.
