A quarter of a century on from their eponymous standalone album, Pearl Jam/Soundgarden supergroup Temple of the Dog have reformed for their first ever tour.

The group, featuring singer Chris Cornell, guitarists Mike McCready and Stone Gossard, bassist Jeff Ament and drummer Matt Cameron, will play shows in Philadelphia, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and their native Seattle this coming November.

"We wanted to do the one thing we never got to do ... play shows and see what it feels like to be the band that we walked away from 25 years ago," Chris Cornell said in a statement.

“This is something no one has ever seen. We wanted to stop and recognise that we did this and pay homage."

Alongside the live shows, the band will also be re-releasing ‘Temple of the Dog’ on CD, deluxe CD, vinyl and a limited-edition super deluxe CD/DVD and Blu-ray bundle.

With the release date yet to be confirmed, you can check the various packages out on the Pearl Jam website here.

"Temple was about making an album simply for the joy of doing it," Cornell added. "We weren't concerned what anyone outside of our group of friends would think of it. It was the first and maybe only stress-free album that we all made."

Although it has now achieved Platinum status Stateside, ‘Temple of the Dog’ was largely overlooked upon release in 1991.

However, following the success of Soundgarden’s ‘Badmotorfinger’ and Pearl Jam’s ‘Ten’, the album gained momentum when A&M Records reissued it.

So far there is no news of whether Temple of the Dog are planning any international dates. They play the following shows:

NOVEMBER 2016
Philadelphia Tower Theater – 4th
New York Madison Square Garden – 7th
San Francisco Bill Graham Civic Center – 11th
Los Angeles The Forum – 14th
Seattle Paramount Theater – 20th
