Paul Rodgers Wins Ivor Novello

The former Free frontman picks up a well deserved lifetime achievement award

The prestigious British Music Awards, "The Ivor Novellos", were handed out in London yesterday and Paul Rodgers was awarded for Outstanding Contribution To British Music.

The award was presented by Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records and the first label to sign Paul with his band Free.

Other past recipients include, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, David Bowie & Elton John.

Steve Winwood also picked up an award at the ceremony for Outstanding Song Collection, while Muse picked up the International Achievement award.

Also in attendance at the ceremony were Jimmy Page and Elton John along with new artists Tinie Temph, Dizzee Rascal & Conor O'Brien.
