Foo Fighters inspired former Beatle\'s potential new direction

Undercover News reports that Sir Paul is planning a couple of new albums in the next few years, including a covers album of classic rock n roll music and a heavier rock record inspired by the Foos recent endeavours.

The Beatle has reportedly been wanting to do a classic covers album for years, full of "get-home-from-work music... You put it on and get a glass of red wine."

The choice of tunes were described as "pre-rock" pop – "It's my dad's style of music".

McCartney said that when Rod Stewart began his Great American Songbook series, he put the idea on the backburner.

He also told Rolling Stone Magazine that he's writing music for a "heavier rock" album, saying, "It sounds quite wacky, but it keeps it fresh." He has been speaking to Dave Grohl about how Foo Fighters recorded their last album Wasting Light in the garage.

"I love that — you get a crazy idea and go with it," he says of the rock album. "You never know — I may run into a garage to make this other album. But it won't be in Dave's garage."
