Pantera announce support act for UK & Ireland tour

Groove metal behemoths Pantera have announced the support act for their UK & Ireland tour.

Joining vocalist Philip H. Anselmo, bassist Rex Brown, guitarist Zakk Wylde and drummer Charlie Benante at all five dates will be Dallas thrash metallers Power Trip.

The tour will mark the first time Power Trip have performed in the UK since Download Festival 2019.

Power Trip went on hiatus four years ago following the death of frontman Riley Gale, and they reformed in December 2023 with new vocalist Seth Gilmore.

Prior to Download Festival last summer, Pantera's last headline UK show took place on 30th April 2000 at London's Brixton Academy as part of their Reinventing The Steel tour.

Pantera’s tour opens at Glasgow OVO Hydro on Tuesday 18th February 2025, and they visit Leeds First Direct Arena, Dublin 3Arena, and Birmingham BP Pulse Live before culminating at London OVO Arena Wembley on Tuesday 25th February 2025.

Just like Pantera’s rapturously-received international dates over the past two years, the tour is a celebration of late-great Pantera founding members, drummer Vinnie Paul and guitarist Dimebag Darrell.

The estates of Dimebag and Vinnie Paul have given the green light to the celebratory reunion, which kicked off at Mexico's Hell & Heaven Metal Fest on Friday 2nd December 2022.
