Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne movie biopic to focus on 20-year period of their lives
It's a "tearjerker," according to Sharon

A movie biopic about Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne is still in the works, and it will focus on a 20-year period of their lives.
The as-yet-untitled film was formally announced back in October 2021 when it was confirmed that both Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne’s music will feature.
“Our relationship at times was often wild, insane and dangerous but it was our undying love that kept us together,” Sharon Osbourne said at the time. “We’re thrilled to partner with Sony Pictures and Polygram to bring our story to the screen.”
Two-and-a-half-years on, Sharon, Ozzy and Jack Osbourne have given an update on the movie during the new episode of The Osbournes Podcast, which was recorded before Sharon entered the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Commenting on the movie's slow progress, Ozzy said: “By the time it’s eventually filmed, I’ll be dead! I wanna be alive to f---ing see it.”
Sharon added: “Movies take forever to make. Forever!”
She then listed the actors who she’d like to play her: “I think Florence Pugh or the little girl from Game of Thrones (Maisie Williams).”
Clearly not very involved in the project, Ozzy then asked what period of his and Sharon’s life does it focus on – “young or old?”
Jack, who is serving as a producer on the film, replied: “I think where we’re at now, it’s 1979 to 90s. Something like that… to 99. So a 20-year span. I’m excited that it’s still rocking and rolling. It’s too good of a story.”
Reflecting on who will play Ozzy, Jack said: “I know who I want to play dad. Bill Hader. Everyone thinks I’m crazy until I show a side-by-side picture and then that guy’s ability to morph (into different characters).”
Completely unaware of who Bill Hader is, Ozzy tells Jack to “f--- off” when he sees a photo.
Kelly chipped in: “I think that dad needs to be played by an unknown actor that is very good. I don’t think there’s anybody you could think of right now who could do it.”
In October 2021, it was revealed that the Oscar nominated Lee Hall (Billy Elliott, Rocketman, War Horse) is writing the script, with Sharon and her children Jack Osbourne and Aimee Osbourne producing via their label Osbourne Media.
Michele Anthony and David Blackman were listed as producers on behalf of Polygram Entertainment, with Andrea Giannetti representing Sony.
Helmed by Jack Osbourne, Osbourne Media has already made a number of shows for television including God Bless Ozzy Osbourne and Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne.
Sharon Osbourne first revealed in July 2018 that she was working on a “tearjerker” movie about her relationship with Ozzy.
She told Variety at the time: "It starts the day we meet and will focus on how our lives were totally different but very similar in ways: I was brought up by a powerful, successful father (Black Sabbath, ELO and Small Faces manager Don Arden) and Ozzy was brought up extremely poor and somewhat abused.”
Sharon added: "It's definitely going to be a tearjerker. It's not going to be a sex-and-drugs movie at all. Ozzy is so much more than that. I would hate to be a cliché."
Ozzy and Sharon Levy first met in the 1970s when Ozzy was still married to Thelma Riley. They married in 1982 and have three children together – Aimee, Kelly and Jack.
