Ozzy Osbourne is out of intensive care unit and 'breathing on his own'
Sharon Osbourne says Ozzy Osbourne has left his intensive care unit and is now 'breathing on his own.'
Ozzy was admitted to the Keck Hospital of University of Southern California on Monday 4th February less than a week after he was forced to postpone the entire UK and European leg of his No More Tours 2 tour due to flu and severe bronchitis.
At the time Sharon said doctors advised “hospital was the best way to get him on a quicker road to recovery.” It was feared his upper-respiratory tract infection could have developed into pneumonia.
Giving an update on Ozzy’s condition on her US chat show The Talk yesterday (Tuesday 12th February), Sharon Osbourne said Ozzy was “out of ICU” and “breathing on his own.”
“He’s doing good, he really is,” Sharon told viewers. “And I just want to say a huge thank you to everybody that has reached out with good wishes. He’s overcome by the response that he’s had and it just makes him, it’s kind of bittersweet because he’s so overwhelmed with it but he’s sad, too.”
Echoing this sentiment, she later tweeted: “Thank you to everyone for all your get well messages and support for Ozzy. We are overwhelmed and truly touched by everyone’s thoughtfulness.”

Last week, Ozzy’s former Black Sabbath band mate Tony Iommi sent Ozzy his best wishes on social media, writing: “I’m wishing @OzzyOsbourne a speedy recovery and I know he’ll be gutted that he’s had to cancel part of his tour but I’m sure he’ll be back on stage as soon as he’s able. Get better soon my friend. Lots of love Oz, Tony x”
Ozzy has vowed to complete his postponed European shows with Judas Priest and has confirmed they’re being rescheduled to start in September.
Last October Ozzy was hospitalised with three potentially deadly staph infections in his right hand, which forced him to postpone the final four dates of his US tour.
