Celebrity gossip sites in the US began reporting on Monday that Ozzy was in hospital after photos emerged of the Osbournes visiting the Keck Hospital of University of Southern California.

Ozzy’s wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, later confirmed Ozzy’s hospitalisation on Wednesday, telling her Twitter followers: “As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to hospital following some complications from the flu.

“His doctors feel this is the best way to get him on a quicker road to recovery. Thanks to everyone for their concern and love.”

70-year-old Ozzy was forced to postpone the entire UK and European leg of his No More Tours 2 tour last week due to flu and severe bronchitis.

Due to a severe upper-respiratory infection, doctors warned Ozzy that he risked developing pneumonia if he hit the road.

Ozzy has vowed to play the European shows with Judas Priest and has confirmed they’re being rescheduled to start in September.

Last October Ozzy was hospitalised with three potentially deadly staph infections in his right hand, which forced him to postpone the final four dates of his US tour.
