Ozzy Osbourne no longer wants to move back to the UK
"I'm American now"
Ozzy Osbourne says he doesn’t want to move back to the UK as he’s “American” now.
Earlier this year, Sharon Osbourne confirmed that she and Ozzy are permanently moving back to the UK after more than a quarter-of-a-century living in Los Angeles.
Ozzy later told The Guardian that he wants to die in his home country and he’s fed up with the violence in America.
"Everything’s f---ing ridiculous there,” Ozzy said in August. “I’m fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert… It’s f---ing crazy."
The Birmingham metal legend added: "I don’t want to die in America… I’m English. I want to be back."
However, in an apparent change of heart, Ozzy has now told Consequence Magazine that he’d be happy to stay where he is in Los Angeles.
"To be honest with you, if I had my way, I’d stay in America," Ozzy admitted. "I’m American now... to be honest with you, I don’t want to go back. F--- that."
In the same interview with Consquence, Sharon Osbourne maintained that they have to move back to their Buckinghamshire estate as it isn’t safe Stateside.
“When I first came here, I thought I was in heaven,” she says. “In the ‘70s, if you loved music, this was the place to be. It’s not that hub anymore. It’s not exciting anymore. It hasn’t gone sideways, it’s gone down. It’s not a fun place to live. It’s dangerous here. Every big city’s got crime, but I don’t feel safe here. Neither does Ozzy.”
Despite Ozzy’s stance, The Osbournes are set to return to our screens with a brand new reality TV series called Home To Roost, almost two decades after their original show ended.
The BBC commissioned show will follow Ozzy and Sharon as they relocate to the UK after more than two decades in California.
A synopsis reads: 'Expectation will produce the ten-part series of 30-minute episodes for BBC One and iPlayer, Home to Roost will document Ozzy and Sharon’s journey back to Britain, alongside Kelly and Jack’s efforts to support them, as they attempt to re-start their lives in rural Buckinghamshire.
'The series will follow the Osbournes as they celebrate one of their most important years yet – with everything from Sharon’s 70th birthday to Kelly’s soon-to-be-born baby, Ozzy’s tour, and of course the big move itself.
'This will be a genuine portrait, showing Sharon and Ozzy as they face up to illness and the challenges of getting older, but with the usual Osbourne eccentricities, humour, warmth and love.'
Ozzy Osbourne is set to tour the UK & Ireland in May and June 2023 on his No More Tours 2 trek with Judas Priest, which has been postponed multiple times because of his health.
