Ozzy Osbourne has admitted to having a relapse in his intoxication habits recently.

"For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs,” posted Ozzy in a statement Monday evening. "I was in a very dark place and was an asshole to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober.”

The statement comes amid rumours that he and wife Sharon, who have been enjoying marital bliss (more or less) for 31 years, are splitting.

"Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing,” said Ozzy. "I’m just trying to be a better person. I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period.........and my fans. God Bless, Ozzy.”

A spokesperson for Sharon said she and Ozzy were staying apart due to their overwhelming work commitments. Black Sabbath are currently preparing for the launch of their world tour in support of upcoming album "13". The first single from their new album will be released this Friday.
