Ozzy Admits Daisley / Kerslake Mistake
Ozzy says that he wouldn\'t have removed the duo from recordings
Ozzy Osbourne has revealed that he never wanted Bob Daisley or Lee Kerslake removed from his first two albums when they were reissued in 2002.
The removal of Ozzy’s former bassist and drummer from the album recordings in 2002 drew a fair amount of criticism from fans, and the mistake will be partially rectified later this year when the albums a reissued fully intact.
But now Ozzy has revealed that he didn’t want the duo to be removed in the first place.
Ozzy told Pulse Radio: "Believe me, it wasn’t my doing. I mean, I didn’t know that was being done, ’cause Sharon (Osbourne) was fighting all the legal things that were going down at the time. I said, ‘What did you do that for?’ And she said, ‘The only way I could stop everything was if it went to that level.’ And I said, ‘You know what, whatever the circumstances were, I want the original thing back.’ I mean, I wouldn’t have done that.”
Kerslake and Daisley’s parts were replaced by future Metallica bassist Rob Trujillo and Faith No More co-founder and drummer Mike Bordin when the albums were reissued in 2002.
The albums are due to be reissued once more later this year with Kerslake and Daisley reinserted into the recordings.
