Ones To Watch: The Rocket Dolls

The next act to step into the spotlight in Planet Rock’s weekly Ones To Watch feature are Brighton-based purveyors of riff-heavy rock The Rocket Dolls.

The Rocket Dolls are: Nikki Smash (vocals & lead guitar), Benji Knopfler (drums & backing vocals) and Joe Constable (bass & backing vocals).

Formed a decade ago in Brighton, The Rocket Dolls are a relentless rock n’ roll juggernaut with a thirst for filthy chugging riffs, pounding beats and fist-pumping anthemic choruses.

Nikki, Benji and Joe’s live career thus far has seen them tour with a plethora of bands including the mighty Black Stone Cherry and storm festivals like Hard Rock Hell, Teddy Rocks Fest, Lodestar Festival & Trash Stock to name a few. Having turned heads with their debut album ‘Eyes’ in 2014 – a record that spawned the thunderous title track – The Rocket Dolls are now primed to launch a fresh onslaught on the rock world’s psyche with their second album ‘DeadHead’ when it’s unleashed on Friday 6th April 2018.

Recorded at London's British Grove Studios (David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler) and produced and mixed by Mark Roberts, the album sees The Rocket Dolls embrace heavy rock, grunge and punk and remould their eclectic musical palate into something vibrant and fresh. In fact, if towering lead single 'None Of This Is Right' is anything to go by, it promises to be an absolute monster. Lend your lugholes to the track here:
