The 33rd band to take centre stage in our weekly Ones To Watch feature are Staffordshire rockers Ryders Creed.

Ryders Creed are Ryan Antony (vocals), Lee Spencer (guitar/vocals), Myles Cooper (guitar/vocals), Richard Clark (bass), Lee Gilbert (drums).

Formed just 12 months ago following the demise of Ryan, Richard and Myles’ former band Black Rose Cadillac, it’s been something of a whirlwind rise to prominence for Ryders Creed. Already a well-oiled rock n’ roll machine, 2017 saw Ryders Creed play gigs in all corners of the UK winning over fans and picking up widespread plaudits alike with their refreshingly eclectic sounds.

Buoyed by the positive reaction from their ‘Creedlings’, last December they launched a PledgeMusic campaign to fund their debut album and duly smashed their target in just five weeks with over £6,000 pledged. In February they hit the studio to lay down their inaugural studio album at Birmingham’s Priory Recording Studios with producer Greg Chandler and the fruits of their labours will be revealed to the world on 1st June when the self-titled ‘Ryders Creed’ sees the light of day via Off Yer Rocka Recordings.

Singer Ryan comments: “We believe that there is something on this album for everybody... those who like the heavier side of rock, and those who like the lighter side... those who love to really understand and analyse the lyrical content and those who love a huge dirty riff.”

Unleashed in April, lead single ‘Headspace’ whets the appetite nicely for the album. Melding abrasive guitars, Chili Peppers-esque basslines and rhythmic beats with Ryan’s impressive rock pipes, it’s an instantly infectious track that’s packed with swagger. Little wonder it’s amassed over 18,000 YouTube views and counting.
