Inspired to take up music at the tender age of seven after hearing The Groundhogs’ mind-bending 1971 masterpiece ‘Split’, 25-year-old Laurence Jones’ career has been nicely simmering for the past five years. A prolific artist, Laurence has released four solo studio albums via German independent imprint Ruf Records (Joanne Shaw Taylor, Walter Trout), he’s been named Young Blues Artist of the Year at the British Blues Awards three times and he’s toured with the likes Status Quo, Gary Clark Jr, Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and his musical hero Tony McPhee.

Primed to unleash his fifth record ‘The Truth’ on Friday 9th March, Laurence has hailed it as a “crossover blues” album in the ilk of “John Mayer, Eric Clapton and even Jimi Hendrix” and his “favourite” work to date. He’ll be celebrating its release with a Planet Rock presents tour that kicks off in London in January before taking in further shows throughout May.
