Fahran are: Matt Black (vocals), Jake Graham (guitar), Josh Fahran (drums), Josh Ballantyne (bass) and Chris Byrne (guitar).

Since their inception six years ago, Fahran have already released two studio albums (2012’s ‘Fahran’ and 2014’s ‘Chasing Hours’) to acclaim, stormed festivals including Bloodstock, Download Festival and Hard Rock Hell, and opened for prestigious bands like UFO and The Answer.

Now with a third studio album called ‘Vapours’ on the horizon this summer, the quintet are primed to make the next leap in their career by exploring heavier musical realms and themes. Premiered shortly before Christmas, instantly infectious lead single ‘State of Mind’ is nothing short of a triumphant return to the fray. Amidst a heady brew of swirling guitars and euphoric riffs, the lyrically potent track sees Matt Black sing from the perspective of someone struggling with mental health problems and also that of someone wanting to reassure them.

Matt says: “As a band, we have definitely stepped it up and developed a heavier sound to our music. State of Mind is like a bridge between our previous album Chasing Hours and what we are going to release in our next album. The song is told from two perspectives. The first is from the place of someone who’s depressed, low, and anxious. Then it switches to the outside perspective of wanting to help that person because you understand what they’ve been through from your own experience.”

A bold statement of intent, ‘State of Mind’ truly hints at great things to come from ‘Vapours’.
