Ones To Watch: Dirty Thrills

Every Wednesday, Planet Rock shines the spotlight on a rising rock act that truly demands your attention. This week it’s Dirty Thrills!

Dirty Thrills are Louis James (vocals), Jack Fawdy (guitars), Steve Corrigan (drums), Aaron Plows (bass).

In keeping with their apt moniker, Dirty Thrills serve up a heady brew of riff-heavy, blues-tinged and gloriously grimy rock and roll that gets the pulse racing.

Formed following an alcohol-fuelled jamming session at a quiet village pub in Wiltshire, the London-based quartet self-released a debut record back in 2014 and they’ve been steadily building up a loyal following over the past three years thanks to their incandescent live shows and scintillating songs that the band themselves describe as the ‘perfect musical blend of sex, riffs and lung-busting vocals.’

With their career on an upwards trajectory, Dirty Thrills were recently snapped up by esteemed Italian imprint Frontiers Music srl (Whitesnake, Journey, Glenn Hughes) and in the live arena they’ve toured with Europe on their European ‘War of Kings’ tour, supported Scorpions at ‘Le Zenith de Dijon’ Arena in France and opened for Crobot on their UK jaunt. Alongside a coveted slot at playing Ramblin’ Man Fair, Dirty Thrills also played storming sets at Planet Rockstock in 2015 and the inaugural Winter’s End back in February.

Boasting the epic songs ‘I’ll Be With You’, ‘Law Man’ and the recently released ‘Rabbit Hole’, earlier this month Dirty Thrills released their second studio album ‘Heavy Living’, which was recorded at Monnow Valley Studio in Rockfield, Monmouth and produced/mixed by James Loughrey (The Darkness, Skindred, Sumo Cyco). Rightfully met with glowing reviews, it’s the sound of a band at the top of their game.
