Ones To Watch: Dead Man’s Whiskey

Dead Man’s Whiskey are: Nico Rogers (vocals), Billy Kons (lead guitar), Elliot D'Alvarez (guitar), James Titley (bass), Charlie Gray (drums).

Since playing their inaugural gig in Camden in April 2016, Dead Man’s Whiskey have wasted absolutely no time in bringing their infectious hard rock sounds to the masses. Thanks to their dexterous musicianship, penchant for epic riffs and the impossibly effortless rock vocals of singer Nico, they’ve rapidly built a reputation as a scintillating live force performing a series of fervently received headline shows in front of their ever-multiplying fan base (dubbed ‘Whiskey Chasers’) together with support slots with the likes of Stone Broken, Bigfoot and Tequila Mockinbyrd.

Having unleashed their introductory EP ‘War Machine’ in August 2016, last summer the quintet released their debut album ‘Under The Gun’, which featured input from Welsh studio wizard Romesh Dodangoda (Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons, Stone Broken). As typified by offshoot singles ‘This Fight’ and January 2018’s bold statement of intent ‘My Year’ - with its urgent refrain “this year will be my year!" – the album is confident, musically accomplished, packed with searing tunes and has nods to a plethora of rock n’ roll greats.

With a series of headline shows lined up over the coming months on the Under The Gun Tour, Dead Man’s Whiskey are primed to take 2018 by the horns and continue their upwards trajectory. We’ll drink to that!
