Nita Strauss rejoins Alice Cooper's band
She will perform with our Alice on his 2023 trek
Nita Strauss has returned to Alice Cooper’s band for his upcoming 2023 tour dates across North America.
Last July, Nita Strauss issued a statement on Instagram saying she “will not be joining the Alice Cooper band” on their upcoming autumn tour, and she was soon unveiled as a member of Demi Lovato’s touring band.
Strauss, who was replaced by Kane Roberts for the autumn 2022 tour, later clarified her status in Alice Cooper’s band and referred to her exit as a “hiatus” rather than a “departure.”
“It’s an interesting thing that everyone’s picked up saying it’s a ‘departure’ but I don’t feel, necessarily, that I left,” Strauss explained to Louder.
Nine months on from the start of the hiatus, it’s been confirmed today that Nita Strauss has returned to Alice Cooper’s band for his 2023 tour.
“She’s back,” Planet Rock's very own Alice Cooper said. “Nita asked for a leave of absence to work with someone else, something I always encourage my band members to do. I like them to challenge themselves and try new things.
“I’m thankful to my old friend Kane Roberts for stepping up and filling in for her, but she’ll be back with us for the new tour that starts up in late April. It’s going to be great to have her back.”
Nita Strauss adds: “From the studio to the stage, it’s always an immense honour to make music with Alice Cooper!! I’m very excited to be rejoining the band on the road for the 2023 dates, and so I’ll see you on the road in April. Let the nightmare return!”
Alice Cooper plays a North American arena tour throughout April and May 2023 before opening for Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe on six dates of their Stadium Tour in the US.
In August and September, Alice embarks on the Freaks on Parade co-headline arena tour with Rob Zombie.
Alice Cooper is expected to release his 29th studio album later this year. He told Planet Rock listeners last week that it will “knock” people out when it sees the light of day.
Although there currently aren’t any UK dates as part of Alice Cooper’s touring itinerary, he will be gracing these shores in July for a tour with his Hollywood Vampires band mates Joe Perry, Johnny Depp and Tommy Henriksen.
