Nirvana Classic Inspires New Sitcom
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" becomes US TV Series
Taking inspiration from the iconic 1991 hit single by Nirvana, writer David Goetsch has penned a new TV series, which has been picked up by CBS.Â
The sitcom will tell the story of a teenager, who passes on the opportunity to go to Harvard in order to launch a "multibillion-dollar Internet company from his garage", according to the Hollywood Reporter (via NME). He will, according to the report, be joined in his efforts by his sister, best friend and parents, both of whom are 1990s indie rockers.Â
It is not clear as yet whether Courtney Love has given her permission for the song title to be used.
CBS is currently home to How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men and Goetsch's previous creation, The Big Bang Theory.Â
