Nine Inch Nails Record Becomes TV Series

Year Zero is to become a mini-series

Empire reports that the 2007 concept album is being developed for TV by Fight Club scriptwriter Jim Uhls.

Last year NiN principle Trent Reznor revealed his plans for the TV show, claiming that it would run for two years and that it was purely in the development stages.

However, it has now been officially confirmed as an HBO / BBC co-production but it will be a mini-series rather than a two year series.

The album is a satire on the American political system, describing a dystopian state heading towards the end of the world and "the erosion of freedom". The "story", about a "Bureau of Morality" forming in the wake of a nuclear war between America and Iran, takes place in 2022, the same year as Soylent Green. Reznor says it's "an essay about where the world might be if we continue down this path..."

Stay tuned for more info when we have it.
