New York Tribute To The Stones
A charity concert at Carnegie Hall will be Rolling Stones themed
The New York Times reports that the annual concert at Carnegie Hall to benefit music education programs for the poor will feature a number of artists performing songs from the classic Stones compilation, Hot Rocks 1964-1971.
So far, Rosanne Cash, Steve Earle, Glen Hansard and the Mountain Goats have signed on for the event with more artists to be announced in the near future. Each of the artists will play one song from the 21 song collection.
The concert will take place March 13 and the proceeds will go to support nonprofit organizations that provide music classes to impoverished youths, among them the Church Street School of Music, Young Audiences, Music Unites and the Pinwheel Project.
