New Hendrix Reissues & Box Set On The Way

Plethora of Hendrix releases due in October

A brand new Jimi Hendrix Box set is heading this way later this year alongside a few deluxe reissues of some of his posthumous collections.

West Coast Seattle Boy:  The Jimi Hendrix Anthology is released on 18 October and will be a four disc career spanning collection that will include some of the guitar legend’s best known tracks and a pile of rare and unreleased demos, alternate takes and much much more.

The collection will also include a DVD featuring a brand new documentary directed by the Grammy award winning Bob Smeaton (Beatles Anthology, Festival Express, Beatles: The Studio Recordings). The documentary will air on the BBC at some point in October.

Also released on 18 October are deluxe reissues of Jimi Hendrix Experience: BBC Sessions and Jimi Hendrix: Blues, his legendary Live At Woodstock performance, and Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year, the highly collectible Jimi Hendrix Christmas EP.

The BBC Sessions album will now come as a single CD edition and a double CD edition packaged with a bonus DVD featuring a 30 minute documentary.

The BLUES album will also feature an expanded version of "Jimi Hendrix and the Blues" from the Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues series.  Directed and Produced by Alex Gibney, Janie Hendrix and John McDermott, the film features interviews and live performances not seen in the original PBS television broadcast.
