New Hendrix Album On The Way

An album of unheard Hendrix studio recordings is set to be released on 8 March.

Valleys Of Neptune features 12 tracks including the last to be recorded by the original line-up of the Jimi Hendrix Experience during the sessions that followed Electric Ladyland in 1969-70. The first recordings with bassist Billy Cox are also featured.

The material ranges from original recordings to covers to Hendrix originals. It is mixed by original engineer Eddie Kramer, who first worked with Hendrix in 1967 on Are You Experienced?

Meanwhile, Are You Experienced, Axis: Bold As Love, Electric Ladyland and First Rays Of The New Rising Sun are to be reissued as deluxe CD/DVD editions on 8 March. Each of the albums has been remastered and packaged with a DVD featuring brand new documentaries about each album. The documentaries are directed by Bob Smeaton who was responsible for the excellent Beatles Anthology series.
